ITC ends investigation of claims JUUL violated Arizona vape company's patents

The International Trade Commission said Friday that it’s officially shutting down the investigation into a patent complaint an Arizona-based vape company filed against JUUL.

Last month, the ITC sided with JUUL on a similar complaint that found NJOY violated four of its patents.

But after further review of NJOY’s claims in the reverse, the ITC says that it hasn’t found any wrongdoing on JUUL’s part and has decided to end the investigation.

With this latest ruling, JUUL avoids the kind of sales ban that will hit NJOY at the end of the month. NJOY has already said it will comply with the ruling against it.
