With MLB’s Opening Day just around the corner, the Arizona Diamondbacks hosted their annual ‘What’s New at Chase’ featuring a glimpse of the upcoming promotional giveaways and a sneak peek of the revamped menu for the upcoming 2025 season.

Just as important, the event also addressed ballpark renovations, which was a topic of concern during the offseason.

Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall said that long-standing roof issues at Chase Field have been fixed ahead of the regular season, which begins March 27 when Arizona hosts the Chicago Cubs for a four-game series. The ballpark’s air conditioning system continues to be a work in progress, but Hall stressed the importance of providing a comfortable environment for fans during the hot summer months.

Beyond the immediate improvements, Hall expressed optimism about Chase Field’s future possibilities, particularly House Bill 2704.

The measure would provide Diamondbacks funding, as it would repurpose Chase Field’s employee income and state taxes into stadium improvements. It passed out of the Arizona House, and now waits to go through a Senate committee for approval.

This season, fans can expect an array of new menu items.

Kicking things off with savory options, fans can order Sweet and Spicy Korean Wings coated in a Gochujang glaze, topped with sesame and pickled cucumber for a bold kick. The Giant Loaded BBQ Chicken Potato features a hearty Idaho potato topped with tender pulled chicken and smoky BBQ sauce. The Carne Asada Nacho Helmet is piled high with carne asada and creamy avocado. Filthy Mac Fries are Cajun-spiced fries loaded with creamy mac and cheese and savory pork belly.

The Grand Slamwhich is an 18-inch hero filled with chicken parmesan, meatballs and tomato sauce. Hot Honey Chicken Fries serve crispy chicken tenders drizzled with spicy hot honey atop crinkle-cut fries. The Victory Knot is a giant Bavarian pretzel served with beer cheese, while the Batflip Burger offers a savory mushroom and Swiss smash burger with garlic aioli.

To finish on a sweet note, Dole Whip is a refreshing combination of pineapple and vanilla soft serve. S’mores Nachos bring cinnamon-sugar tortilla chips topped with chocolate and marshmallows for the perfect dessert treat.

Looking forward to Opening Day

The Diamondbacks are keen to recover from an 89-73 finish that saw them fall short of the postseason last season. Luis Gonzalez, a former Diamondback who is now senior advisor to the president and CEO, is optimistic about the new players on the squad as they want to contend for a postseason berth in 2025.

“For us, it’s all about change all the time,” Gonzalez said. “We know in today’s society, everyone is always trying to do something new, something different. … It’s all about social media and things like that, so having events like this showing our promotions, and having influencers out here for the food is creating content and a lot of interest for our fans.”
