If you love going to live events in metro Phoenix, but hate hidden fees for tickets, the Federal Trade Commission has good news.
Annette Soberats with the FTC said a new agency rule requiring up-front pricing also applies to hotel rooms.
“It came from what we were hearing from the public, from many consumers, consumer groups, that this was the common experience. That bait and switch pricing was prevalent,” Soberats said.
Taxes, shipping and optional feature fees have initial exceptions so they can be individually calculated.
Ticketmaster said it now displays the full price of tickets — including fees but not taxes — from the moment someone starts shopping.
