The Chandler City Council has approved a $350,000 contract for services to deal with a pigeon problem in the area.
Locations currently affected by the presence of birds include the city hall and the Chandler Center for the Arts.
The city says the pigeons are causing property damage and health and safety concerns from droppings and nesting materials.
According to the contract, the scope of work will involve cleaning and sanitizing areas, implementing pigeon-deterring technology and installing drop ceilings.
Data will also be collected to monitor the effectiveness of the services.
