Tempe-based Amkor Technology announced a CEO change amid record-breaking third-quarter revenue in a call with investors.
Amkor has been busy this year. Recently the company broke ground for its Peoria-based semiconductor manufacturing plant. It reportedly will be one of the largest chip packaging facilities in the country.
Also, its current CEO, Giel Rutten is retiring and, in January, will be succeeded by Keven Engel, the newly appointed chief operating officer. Rutten will continue to be a board member.
Rutten says company revenue this quarter increased 31%, clinching nearly $2 billion. He attributes the success to market demand.
