In February, a jet owned by Motley Crue lead singer Vince Neal was involved in a fatal accident at the Scottsdale airport. The investigation has led the National Transportation Safety Board to issue an urgent warning about Learjet landing gear.

A portion of the landing gear on Neal’s Learjet 35A separated while arriving at the Scottsdale Airport, causing the jet to veer off-course and slam into a parked aircraft. Neal was not onboard, but the pilot was killed and other passengers were injured.

Based on that investigation, the NTSB has now issued an urgent recommendation to the FAA, asking the agency to mandate safety inspections of the landing gear on several Learjet models.

A spokesperson for the Scottsdale Airport did not provide any comments on the probe as the official investigation is done by the NTSB.
