An aviation service for pets and their owners plans to expand to the Scottsdale Airport in 2026. The service, known as RetrievAir, operates out of a handful of U.S. cities, allowing passengers to fly side-by-side with their furry companions.

RetrievAir gained some exposure — and nearly $800,000 — by striking a deal on the TV show “Shark Tank.”

To operate in specific cities, RetrievAir seeks federal approval through the Department of Defense and checks in with local airport authorities.

Benton Miller is the company founder and CEO.

“I have two retrievers, hence RetrievAir. And they're both 60-plus pounds. And it was just a really big pain point for me of not being able to travel with them or not being easy to travel with them," he said.

He says the expansion to Scottsdale is due to popular demand.

“One of the biggest ones is actually it's one of the most asked for cities by our customer base and by those who follow us. So we keep tally of every suggestion, and we take note of that. And then we try to do our best to match that demand," he said.

Miller also says that there’s a decent-sized pet community in the city that wants accessible travel.
