A recent report from the Office of Economic Opportunity projects that Arizona employment will continue to exceed U.S. job growth over the next 10 years.
Arizona employment will increase by more than 454,000 jobs, or 1.2% annually, from 2024 to 2034.
The sectors with the strongest growth include health care and social assistance and construction. These sectors are projected to increase by a little more than two percent annually.
The OEO says this demand for health care is partially driven by an aging U.S. population.
These sectors are followed by manufacturing.
Employment is also projected to increase in all of Arizona’s 15 counties. Maricopa County will see the strongest growth.
