SBA representatives will be available in Tempe to help with loan applications following microburst

In Tempe, a microburst and thunderstorm on Oct. 13, 2025, dropped about a half-inch of rain within 10 minutes, according to the National Weather Service.

U.S. Small Business Administration representatives will be available at the Tempe Public Library starting Tuesday to help residents or business owners whose properties were damaged following the microburst last month.

Applicants can visit the Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Tempe to get help from SBA representatives.

Businesses and nonprofits can borrow up to $2 million for repairs and replacements.

Homeowners and renters can borrow up to $100,000 to replace or repair their personal property and $500,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.

Interest rates are about 4% for businesses and nonprofits and 3% for homeowners and renters.

Loan applications can be found on SBA’s website.
