Boeing recently won a multibillion dollar Defense Department contract to build more Apache helicopters in Mesa.
Apache helicopters have been used by the U.S. military since the 1980s. Boeing considers its Mesa facility the home of Apache helicopters.
The company even calls them the backbone of the Army’s attack-chopper fleet.
Now, Boeing in Mesa is getting roughly $4.7 billion to build Apaches for other militaries through a roughly eight-year contract.
The Defense Department says roughly half of the money came from buyers Egypt, Kuwait and Poland.
Deliveries are expected to start in 2028.
