China Airlines is now offering nonstop flights between Phoenix and Taipei, Taiwan.
The first nonstop flight from Sky Harbor to Asia took off on Wednesday. According to a statement from Sky Harbor, flights will be three days a week: Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and will take 15 hours and 20 minutes to arrive at Taoyuan International Airport
Officials also say that this will strengthen economic ties between Phoenix and Taipei.
Earlier this year, STARLUX Airlines, a Taiwanese airline, announced that it was working with American Airlines to offer the Phoenix-Taipei route in 2026.
