Arizona’s unemployment rate hit 4.2% in September, up 0.4% from a year prior. However the state still added over 37,000 jobs in the same time frame.
Doug Walls is with the state’s Office of Economic Opportunity.
"Annual job gains were recorded in eight of Arizona’s 12 major industry sectors, led by healthcare and social assistance, professional and business services, leisure and hospitality and financial activities," Walls said.
Walls said the government, information, manufacturing, and trade and utilities sectors declined in year-over-year job numbers.
