Arizona’s minimum wage will increase again on Thursday.
This time, wages will rise from $14.70 per hour to $15.15.
Thanks to a voter approved law from 2016, Arizona’s minimum wage is tied to inflation, which has increased again.
The federal minimum wage is still $7.25 — which hasn’t changed since 2009.
As of Jan. 1, the state’s minimum wage will be more than double what it was in 2011; $7.35.
This year, Arizona is one of several states which will get a higher minimum wage starting at the beginning of the year.
Some Arizona cities already have their own higher minimum wages.
The increase won’t apply to certain people — like tipped workers, or employees of small businesses making low annual revenue.
