Tempe residents, nonprofits and businesses affected by the damaging microburst there last year have more time to apply for federal financial assistance.

The new deadline is March 13 to reach out to the Small Business Administration, which is offering loans ranging from $100,000 to $2 million.

Tempe’s interim emergency director Monique Rodriguez encourages everyone impacted to apply for the loans.

“Roof repairs, landscaping repairs, car damage. Even if you have insurance and had to pay a deductible, if you need a loan to cover that deductible, that would also potentially be an option," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez says help with loan applications is being offered at Tempe Public Library.
