The Arizona Department of Revenue is telling people not to wait to file their taxes despite the lack of an approved state tax code for 2025.

Gov. Katie Hobbs and Republican lawmakers differ on how much of the federal tax code laid out in last year’s Republican tax and spending bill should be adopted at the state level.

During a Senate committee hearing, a Department of Revenue employee said about a third of filers, about a million people, could have to amend their returns if they file now. That could cost the state about $20 million to process.
