Apache Junction is emerging as a new hub for manufacturing and development following the recent Sundt Manufacturing groundbreaking.
The facility is set to open in 2027 and is expected to create 100 jobs.
With close proximity to the U.S. 60 and a growing workforce, Economic Development Director Ryan Kaup said the city is looking to continue this trend.
“We are absolutely open to multiple types of manufacturing, so semiconductor, aerospace, those are all up our alley moving forward," Kaup said. "we think that we've got a great workforce with blue collar workers, as well as a lot of white collar workers starting to move in and really just that untapped residential growth.”
Apache Junction's vast open land and growing workforce make it an ideal location for new manufacturing facilities, according to Kaup.
The city hopes that Sundt’s move to the far East Valley inspires other companies to follow suit.
“I truly believe, looking back on this, that Sundt will be looked like a visionary to bring this first facility to our community, and other developers will now really be looking with a great name and a respected company like Sundt moving to our community,” Kaup said.
