Phoenix activists are demanding that Home Depot tell Immigration and Customs Enforcement to stay away.

Erika Andiola with the Neighborhood Defense Committee called for Home Depot to join other businesses that have banned ICE while speaking Tuesday outside of the store at 36th Street and Thomas Road.

“ICE has to have a warrant to go into private property. So what we are telling Home Depot is ‘Why are you not following the lead of these business owners?’” she said.

A spokesperson for Home Depot says it cannot prevent federal authorities from going into stores and parking lots.

They also say Home Depot isn’t told when there is immigration enforcement, and the company is not part of the operations.
