Health insurance companies in the Affordable Care Act marketplace are seeking an average premium increase of 25% in Arizona for 2027.
While these proposed rates were filed with the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions back in May, the filings were made public this past weekend. They show that ACA marketplace health insurers in Arizona cited a worsened risk pool, driven by the expiration of enhanced premium tax credits.
The filings show that six of the seven insurers operating in Arizona’s ACA market are seeking rate increases of approximately 25%. Antidote Health is the outlier, requesting a 3% increase.
