Waymo is expanding its services in metro Phoenix. The autonomous ride hailing company is adding 55 square miles to its service area.
Riders can now hail a Waymo in several East Valley neighborhoods — including San Tan Ranch and other parts of Gilbert, and more of Chandler.
Mesa Gateway Airport will be added as a stop in the near future. Once that happens, the company says Phoenix will have the most airport access to Waymo in the world.
All of this brings Waymo’s footprint to roughly 350 square miles, covering parts of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe.
In July, Waymo resumed traveling on Phoenix freeways after a two-month pause for software updates.
