Valley Metro and the city of Phoenix are hosting a meeting this week to give people a chance to learn more about a proposed light rail extension for the West Valley.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Desert West Community Center near 67th Avenue and Thomas Road. The event is part of an effort by city and transportation officials to provide feedback on the project.
The proposed extension spans 10 miles along Indian School Road and would connect residents living in the west region to the rest of the light rail system in central Phoenix.
According to Valley Metro, the extension would also connect to the Desert Sky Transit Center.
The public is also invited to provide feedback online.
The city and Valley Metro will hold two more open house meetings in September and October. The full schedule is as follows:
