One of the most well known cable providers in Arizona is changing. Cox Communications is merging with internet provider Spectrum after a multi-billion dollar deal was finalized in August.
Charter Communications, the parent company of Spectrum, closed a deal for $34.5 billion to merge with Cox Communications this fall.
As of 2023, Cox said it had nearly 3 million combined customers in metro Phoenix and southern Arizona, and around 3,000 Arizona employees in 2025.
Local customers should expect all equipment and current pricing to remain the same as the companies merge, according to Spectrum. The company says all account information and internet service will also not change during the transition.
All services provided by Cox will rebrand to Spectrum by mid-September.
