A new technology hub opened Monday at ASU’s Tempe campus in collaboration with aerospace tech manufacturer Honeywell. Stakeholders say the Honeywell Innovation Hub could be the next source of groundbreaking innovations.
From leading technology to hackathons, the Honeywell Innovation Hub aims to provide ASU students with real-world engineering experience.
Sally Morton, executive vice president of ASU’s Knowledge Enterprise, says Honeywell has partnered with ASU for a number of years, and that this hub is a key investment for future innovations across industries.
“It’s really this spectrum of customer service; we all fly planes. But, all the way to space as well as national security. And actually one of the Honeywell speakers spoke about flying taxis," Morton said.
Its career center aims to directly link students with Honeywell, too. Jim Currier is president and CEO of the company’s aerospace technologies branch.
"We’re able to see certain aspects of the industry. Bringing that to the students, preparing them for entry into the workforce going forward, presents tremendous value for the students as well," Currier said.
In one of its first events, Honeywell engineering experts will make a presentation on Wednesday.
The hub can be utilized by all ASU students.
