Wednesday is scheduled to be the first day on campus for the new University of Arizona president.
Suresh Garimella takes over for Robert Robbins, who is also a heart surgeon and is expected to take a tenured faculty job at the medical school.
Garimella is a mechanical engineering professor. He’s set to become UA’s top leader after serving roughly five years as president of the University of Vermont.
