After a consumer fraud investigation, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office recently reached a settlement with a local window dressing company and its owners.

Co-owners David Cash and Linda Lutz were accused of taking deposits without delivering services until they drew the curtain on the business last December.

Starting in 2016, All Good Shutter and Blind LLC advertised fast installation of custom window treatments in the Phoenix area.

The AG’s investigation revealed a pattern of customers paying 70% up front, then waiting up to months or never receiving their installation at all. Refunds were rarely issued.

The former owners will start by paying $35,000 in restitution, and continue with monthly installments over the next two years. Cash and Lutz also agreed not to mislead customers in any future business ventures in the state and to deliver on promises to them.

Kris Mayes said in a statement that her office has plans to contact affected customers, adding that this case serves as a reminder for businesses to deliver on their promises, and for consumers to speak up when they don’t.
