As wildfires continue to destroy homes in Southern California, Arizona State University is checking in on students who might be affected.

About 6,000 students from California attend ASU in person and another 14,000 from the state attend online. Media Relations Director Veronica Sanchez said the university is ready to assist them with any resources they might need.

“Counseling, crisis management, if there are issues with their education, [they should] contact their professors when it comes to their assignments, wrapping those up or finding other plans in which they can finish those.”

At least 153,000 people in California have had to evacuate and about 166,000 were under evacuation warnings as of Friday.
