State-by-state education scores from the Nation’s Report Card were released this week. And although Arizona’s scores have been below-average for decades, the state posted some of its worst results in decades.
State schools chief Tom Horne was disappointed in Arizona’s report and called to continue pushing public schools to do better academically, despite lack of funding.
“Poverty is no excuse for bad academics. It's a matter of knowing what you're doing and doing it faithfully," he said.
