A Title 9 investigation is complete into a Mesa Community College theater professor accused of misconduct by a number of current and former students.
Investigators determined the professor did not engage in sex-based discrimination.
The allegations against Mace Archer range from inappropriate comments and gazing to, this year, encouraging students to undress for an assignment.
A statement from the Maricopa County Community College District says Archer remains on administrative leave, and a personnel investigation is ongoing, with possible consequences depending on the findings.
This week, Lisa Olson, mother to one of Archer’s accusers, told KJZZ the school should fire him but “we don’t have much confidence in them making this choice, based on previous inaction to student complaints.”
Archer has not responded to requests for comment.
