The governing board for Paradise Valley Unified School District is set to hold a special meeting Saturday. Members will be consulting with legal counsel about their superintendent’s employment status.
Todd Cummings was placed on administrative leave in October after the board reviewed unspecified complaints. The district has yet to give an official reason for that decision, but other reports say he left a district in Indiana amid allegations that student grades had been manipulated.
Parents have expressed concerns about the frequent turnover in leadership at Paradise Valley. Board documents say members will meet at 10:45 a.m. and go into executive session to get legal advice on the superintendent’s employment agreement.
There is also an action item listed for the board to authorize legal counsel to proceed as directed.
The public portion of the meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube.
