Youth who are a part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley are more likely to graduate high schools. That’s according to a new report from Arizona State University.

According to the report, 95% of teens involved with the organization are estimated to graduate from high school, which is about 10% higher than average.

According to the analysis, every dollar invested into the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley generates $14.79 back into the state. That brings almost $400 million to the economy annually.

Marcia Mintz is the president and CEO of the organization and spoke on PBS’ “Arizona Horizon.”

“They’re in a safe place after school, they have caring adults, mentors. They have really high quality evidence based programs that we’re doing from 3-7 p.m.," she said.

Mintz also says being associated with the clubs brings physical and mental health benefits.

There are more than 25 club locations around metro Phoenix.
