The Phoenix Union High School District is set to discuss changing the name of Cesar Chavez High School at a special meeting on Thursday, March 26. The discussion may also include the recognition of the holiday by the same name.
This follows a major New York Times investigation that revealed allegations that Chavez raped or sexually assaulted several women, including his organizing partner.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has already said she will not be honoring the holiday this year.
