The Phoenix police chief has put a sergeant on paid leave while an internal investigation of the sergeant’s behavior at an ICE protest in the East Valley is conducted.
Fox 10 Phoenix recently reported that an armed and masked man who authorities said caused a tense situation for high school students protesting ICE in Chandler in January was an off-duty Phoenix police sergeant.
Dusten Mullen reportedly told Chandler police he wanted students to assault him so on-duty officers could arrest them all.
Now the Phoenix police chief has put Mullen on administrative leave while an internal review is conducted.
In a statement, Chief Matt Giordano said he will review the findings as he expects integrity, accountability and sound judgment from officers.
