Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to make a campaign stop Thursday in Tucson at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall.
In a post on Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday evening, Ronstadt herself said she was saddened to see Trump bring his “hate show” to her hometown of Tucson — a town she said with deep Mexican-American roots and a joyful, tolerant spirit.
Ronstadt called out the Trump administration’s "zero tolerance policy" enacted along the southern border in 2018 — where border officers separated some 3,200 migrant children from their parents. More than 1,000 were still separated as of last May, according to a reunification task force set up by the Biden administration.
Ronstadt said there was no forgiving or forgetting the heartbreak caused by Trump’s first term and said she would vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Second gentlemen Doug Emhoff will also hold a campaign event in Tucson on Thursday.
