Democrat Yassamin Ansari, Republican Jeffrey Zink and Green Party candidate Alan Aversa are vying from the U.S. House seat in Arizona's 3rd Congressional District.
On Sept. 30, the Arizona Clean Elections Commission turned its focus to candidates for the state’s 3rd Congressional District.
Democrat Yassamin Ansari declined to participate in the debate, leaving Republican Jeffrey Zink alone to answer questions from the moderator. Only Ansari declined to participate. Green Party candidates are not invited to federal debates because its voters take up less than 1% of the total electorate. For more: https://www.azcleanelections.gov/debate-information
Zink touted an America First perspective.
"We need to stop taking care of other people in other countries. We need to take care of Americans first and make sure, and Arizona, so that we’re able to uplift and be strong enough as a strong nation. Then out of goodness and what is provided for us we can help others," Zink said.
Zink said while he disagrees with continued funding for Ukraine, the United States should continue to support Israel.
