Maricopa County has now posted final, unofficial results for all elections. And the race for the District 3 seat on the county Board of Supervisors appears headed to a recount.

Republican Kate Brophy McGee finished just 164 votes ahead of Democrat Daniel Valenzuela in the final tally. With more than 360,000 votes cast, that represents a margin of just 4 hundredths of a percentage point.

Under state law, elections decided by less than half a percentage point automatically go to a recount.

The winner of the race will represent a district that covers portions of Phoenix and Anthem. The seat was previously held by Republican Bill Gates.
