Maricopa County had more eviction filings in 2024 than ever before — 87,130. The eviction rate in the county is now nearly double the national average rate. For renters, eviction can be a traumatic experience. And from courtrooms to homeless shelters, the uptick in evictions is straining Maricopa County's resources. But not everyone agrees on how to solve this growing problem. KJZZ's Katherine Davis-Young reports.
