It may cost you more to camp at the Grand Canyon next year.

The National Park Service is considering a fee increase. Right now, fees are $18, and the agency says the price to camp hasn’t gone up in 20 years.

The proposal would raise fees to $30.

So it’s asking the public to weigh in on fee increases at the Mather, Desert View and North campgrounds. The Park Service says a quarter million people camped and parked RVs at the Grand Canyon last year.

Comments are accepted through Dec. 15. The fee hike would take effect April 1.
