The Sedona city council has amended an ordinance that bans some types of weapons in its parks and other open spaces but not all.
The council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve an ordinance banning BB guns, crossbows, pellet guns, slingshots and longbows in its parks and open spaces. But it doesn’t ban firearms.
The new rule targets weapons that operate using a so-called spring in air as the propelling force. That doesn’t impact firearms, which use gunpowder. Those will still be allowed but you won’t be allowed to fire them unless there’s a legal reason to do so.
