Mexico has received nearly 11,000 people who have been deported from the U.S. since President Donald Trump took office.

Of those almost 11,000 deportees, around 2,500 of them have been from countries other than Mexico.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said during her regular morning press conference Friday that they’ve repatriated some of those non-Mexican deportees back to their countries of origin, including on a flight as well as ground transportation to Honduras.

“It’s voluntary, remember,” Sheinbaum said. “It’s always voluntary. If they want, we take them back to their countries of origin.”

Mexico has instituted a program for the roughly 8,000 Mexican citizens who have been deported from the United States so far. The “Mexico Embraces You” strategy provides reception at the border and transport for Mexican citizens back to their hometowns.
