Uranium transport from the Pinyon Plain Mine south of the Grand Canyon has only been steadily underway for about two weeks.

Investors are now being told to expect an optimistic year for uranium mining. Energy Fuels, which operates the Pinyon Plain Mine, gave a rosy outlook to investors recently.

The company said it had stockpiled 208,000 pounds of uranium ore since it started mining last year. A prohibition on transport of the uranium was in place until early February.

The company predicts it will process between 730,000 and 1.1 million pounds of uranium from three of its mining complexes in Arizona and in Utah this year.
