Grand Canyon National Park has raised its camping fees for the first time in decades.
The park is boosting fees at its popular Desert View, Mather and North Rim campgrounds starting May 1 from $18 to $30 a night.
The increase comes after a public comment period late last year. Park officials note it’s also the first increase in 20 years. And, they say fees go to campground repairs and improvements.
