A former firefighter has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to setting several fires in northern Arizona in 2023.

Karson Nutter was an Ashfork firefighter whom law enforcement say they traced back to several different arson events in Yavapai and Coconino counties.

Authorities said he’d admitted to lighting several fires, including to two abandoned homes. The 20-year-old was sentenced to five years in prison, minus nearly two years of time he’s already served.
