The U.S. is asking Mexico to review labor practices at a manufacturing facility in Sonora, Mexico.

A Mexican union filed a petition to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative alleging that Amphenol Optimize México violated workers rights.

The union says the U.S. based electronic parts manufacturing company, Amphenol, coerced Mexican workers and discouraged them from joining a union.

After a review, the U.S. found there is quote “sufficient, credible evidence of a denial of rights,” and is asking Mexico to now review the case.

Amphenol Optimize México manufactures Amphenol products at 15 plants in Nogales and one in Hermosillo, according to their website.

Amphenol and Amphenol Optimize México did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
