The city of Flagstaff and the surrounding Coconino National Forest will enter fire restrictions Friday morning starting at 8 a.m.
The U.S. Forest Service’s Stage 1 restrictions ban most wood and charcoal fires outside of developed camp sites, and restricts smoking to similar areas or vehicles.
The city’s Stage 1 restrictions ban fireworks and most fires including barbecues at city parks.
The Forest Service warns that restrictions may increase depending on need and will remain in place until monsoons arrive.
