The acting port director in Nogales says that Customs and Border Protection officers there have seized nearly 250 pounds of fentanyl over the course of 30 days.
According to CBP, that total amount of fentanyl was confiscated in three separate seizures.
In addition to the fentanyl, the port director said on social media that CBP has also seized more than 1,000 pounds of methamphetamine and more than 60 pounds of cocaine in multiple cases since May 14.
The Trump administration has identified cracking down on fentanyl smuggling as a major priority, as Mexico also regularly highlights drug busts and seizures on its own soil.
