As hot temperatures and strong winds continue in northern Arizona, several different agencies and local governments are implementing increased fire restrictions this week.
The city of Flagstaff is entering Stage 2 restrictions, which basically bans any fires throughout the city that doesn’t have an on-off switch. Those start Friday.
Coconino National Forest’s restrictions start Wednesday at 6 p.m. and ban charcoal and wood fires as well as most generators and other gas powered motors.
State trust lands throughout the entire state go into stage 2 restrictions banning campfires and other open flame sources starting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
