Arizona is mostly seeing hot and dry weather conditions, but Yavapai County officials are warning about the dangers of flash floods during monsoon season.
The warnings come as rescue teams continue to search for victims of last weekend’s floods in central Texas.
Ashley Ahlquist is Yavapai County emergency manager and noted some areas that are more likely to see floods.
"Forest lakes, Chino Valley usually has washes that will be very active. There’s areas like Fossil Creek that people go out to recreate and they may experience flash floodings. They can happen anywhere, and it’s important to be prepared," Ahlquist said.
The National Weather Service shows much of Yavapai County is seeing temperatures in the mid- to high 90s, though Prescott has a chance for showers this weekend.
