The Dragon Bravo Fire along the Grand Canyon’s North Rim continues to grow, burning over 94,000 acres. The containment level shrunk to 4% as the fire advances to the north. Windy conditions are expected to worsen Wednesday.

Historically dry and windy conditions are making it harder for crews to contain the fire. It’s expected to keep growing as the weather outlook through the weekend remains dry with gusty winds.

The Kaibab Camper Village and Jacob Lake Inn and gas station are now open, though the rest of the forest remains closed. Structural protection groups continue to work around the Kaibab Lodge and other buildings.

The containment line is at the south border of the fire, near where the North Rim’s Grand Canyon Lodge was burned.
