Prosecutors in a northern Arizona county have formed a so-called integrity unit that will review claims of innocence by those convicted of crimes.

Coconino County Attorney Ammon Barker says the unit was formed to help ensure fairness.

"This is part of modern prosecution. We want to make sure we are looking at every claim and verifying that we do everything we can to maintain justice," he said.

To qualify for review, cases must have completed the appeals process and those convicted must demonstrate new technologies or credible and verifiable evidence of innocence.
