Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says the U.S. military won’t unilaterally enter Mexico.
That’s after reporting from the New York Times that says President Donald Trump is directing the military to target foreign drug cartels.
According to the New York Times report, Trump secretly signed a directive to the Pentagon to use military force against certain Latin American cartels.
Sheinbaum told reporters Friday her government had been made aware of the order, but that it won’t affect her country. She said it has “nothing to do” with Mexico, but rather would affect the interior of the United States.
