Fire restrictions are easing in parts of northern Arizona on Wednesday morning. Steady monsoon rains led to the decision to pull back Stage 2 restrictions on Coconino National Forest, Coconino County and the city of Flagstaff.
Stage 1 restrictions are still in place, prohibiting most types of open flame except in developed campgrounds.
Areas of the county that lie within the boundaries of the forest are easing back to Stage 1. But other parts of the county in the Kaibab National Forest will remain at Stage 2.
